Rainy Days are for Writing

cweberwrites

They’re for reading, too, don’t get me wrong! But a day where I can curl up on the sofa with a blanket, the cat, and my iPad…just perfect. The rain tapping on the windows matches with the tapping of my fingers on the keys. When I need to stop and think about a sentence or an idea, I hear the water flowing through the drains. Sometimes the wind picks up, and the tone of the steady rainfall changes its cadence.

It’s not all poetic, I have to get up more often to pee because of the constant sounds of water all around me! And that annoys the cat. But then I make a cup of tea, settle back in, and the cycle starts over again. The day passes quickly, and the words flow. I don’t want every day to be filled with clouds and rain, but when it happens, I’m not mad.
